The Sanctuary
Wedding Ready?
Our 2,200 sq foot sanctuary is divided into four modular/configurable seating sections facing a slightly raised pulpit that can comfortably seat 120 people. The back wall of the sanctuary to the left and right of the pulpit features gorgeous stained glass windows designed by local artist and former pastor Ted Lyddon Hatton. A stained glass cross hangs on a picture window looking out on a lovely Iowa pasture…the glass in the cross came from our post-War building. The Douglas Fir covered ceiling dramatically raises to a point over 35 feet above the sanctuary, all supported by a engineer designed metal post-and-beam quadrangle system that gives the whole room a wonderful airiness you’re probably not expecting to find in small country church.
The sanctuary’s modern sound system has been recently updated and upgraded, and a new LCD projector and cinema screen were installed in the spring of 2023. For live music, both an organ and a piano are available for use during events.

Narthex
Gather Together
The Center Chapel Narthex is available for smaller gatherings and groups of up to 30 people. It can also handle spillover from the sanctuary for larger events. Chairs and tables can be setup or put away as needed. A large office with a door is located just off the main room that can be used for pre-event preparations. Both Men’s and Women’s restrooms with changing stations are located just off the hall, opposite the office.
Coffee, Tea and Cake?
Kitchen and Fellowship Hall
Center Chapel’s 2600 sq foot Dining and Fellowhip Hall and Kitchen are located directly beneath the sanctuary. The Dining Hall can comfortably handle 120 people. The kitchen is fully stocked with two full refrigerators, two dish washing stations, and two ovens. A large kitchen island provides ample room for food preparation, and counter space runs all around the perimeter for overflow. A large pass-through window provides easy acces for guests to receive their food and drinks…or for staff to retrieve dishes. Both Men’s and Women’s restrooms are located just off the Dining Hall.
The Dining Hall is accessed both by stairs directly from the Sanctuary, as well as through a Handicap Accessible Lift Elevator.
